Blooming Addition

I love creating strip books for my kids to record  their addition problems in. However, the idea of drawing flowers comes from another super blogger and her name is Mrs. Guntorius. If you have not been on her site please check it out, especially if you teach kinder. It rocks! Anyhow this is my twist on her adorable activity since I won't have time to cut and paste the pots (so precious). I am on Spring Break and loving the time off!
Open House countdown!

So I will have my students play this game during workshop time with their partner.
One student will spin the spinners and each will draw the number of flowers related to the spinner numbers. They will write the equation and decide on the answer together by counting up their flowers.
I will mention to them that this is not art since my little girls will spend hours creating the ultimate design!
We call this a "quick sketch." I think this will be a hit. A big shout out to Mrs. Guntorius!

Fran, I told my KKids about you and your blog. We used two of your ideas last week with downloads. Before I could tell them to look for your name one of my precocious girls said, "Look this is from Mrs. Kramer, too." They all want to be in your room. So do I! Thank you for inspiring us.

Dear Reba,
Please tell your kindergarten students that I love giving them special activities to make them super scholars! I feel like I have made a whole set of new friends. I hope I can give them other books that they will enjoy in the future.
Email me privately and I will send them a note.

Sorry. Some things are being saved to sell in the future. Not everything is available for a download.
