Have you pledged today?

This is a little book I am using on Monday with my class. The language is simple and it is just enough for them to use based on the tree map we created on Friday. The repetitive text: It is a symbol of our country.
I think they will love adding some writing to the text and it's not too demanding. This might be a keeper!

I built their background of knowledge with this tree map and the little book is based on the information we recorded.

Oh those lucky are touching their lives in amazing ways. Love the book but especially the "key" idea and introducing them to what that means.

This is sooo cute! I sure hope I can get a copy of this sweet little book. My doodlebugs would enjoy it. We are getting geared up for an "American Symbols" unit too. Here's my email address if you'd be willing to send me a copy of your newest addition to your American symbols things.
BTW...I have your blog as one of my "favorites" tabs and I check it pretty much everyday! I'm so thankful that you post all of your wonderful ideas. I've been "stealing" them from you for a while and downloading your things into my Googledocs. Oh yeah, I have your blog in my GoogleReader! Thanks Ms. Fran!

Fran, this is incredible. My students and I do a big Flag Day unit, we are in Philly and visit Betsy Ross's house as part of it. I am really looking forward to you publishing your ideas. I think you should call it "Energize your Kinder-Kids.) You are a wonder. R
