More From the New Cat in Town: Meet Pete

The students in my class love these worksheets once they have learned the vocabulary presented. We build these sentences in a pocket chart and practice them for several days. When reading this book stop on each page and have your students predict what color his shoes will turn! This is a simple story but a great way to do prediction on a very simple level. Here is the "goodie" I promised. I hope you like it. First grade teachers can have kids create their own adjectives such as "dirty", squishy, rainbow, etc. Tomorrow I will create a class book for you to use. Can you think of a better way to introduce adjectives? Awesome-right?

um Fran,, maybe you have forgotten that many of our second language learners might end up with the sentence "I wet my shoes". Meaning I got them wet, cause thats how they say it :) Just saying....

Fran, this unit is wonderful! I was wondering if you had checked out the lowercase stamps on Oriental Trading's website? http://www.orientaltrading.com/ui/search/processRequest.do?Ntt=lowercase+letter+stamps&x=0&y=0&requestURI=searchMain&Ntk=all&Ntx=mode%2Bmatchallpartial&N=0

I have been tempted to get them for two years, but would like to see what others think that have them. I nearly lost it when I read the pp comment too, lol. Love the freebie!
