Guess Who Showed Up At My House?

OMG this book is adorable and I can't wait to create another packet about Pete at school. I am so excited to work on this and read this to my kids during the first week of school. Get out your ipod and be sure to download this adorable song.  You can find it at www.harpercollinschildrens.com/petethecat . You can also get the first song too if you have never downloaded it before. Life is good.

Here it is for your enjoyment. If you bought my first packet I hope you liked it. Now it is time to work on the new one and get it ready for my team before school starts. Pete is sitting next to my computer watching me type this post. It would be so cute to send him home with the children so they could write about him at their house and take pictures with Pete... Hummmm. I love this blue cat. Look for some freebies soon. The cats looking out the school bus window is hilarious. Okay go over to Amazon if you haven't ordered this.

I bought this for my friend Val's grandchildren for our trip to Vegas and I swear it entertained them for a ridiculous amount of time. What is it about this book that children adore so much? Wait a minute, I love it almost as much. I feel like buying this for our first grade so my kinders from last year can hear this story. They would be so jazzed! If you have little ones at home it is a real winner.

I got mine yesterday and we read it as the goodnight book again tonight!

I'm thinking it may have to be my beginning of the year bulletin board. Something like "Mrs. Webb is singing her song. I love my new class. I love my new class...."
I just have to figure out how to put it together. If you or anyone else has already thought of something similar, I'd love to hear about it!

I have to come clean- I have never read "Pete the Cat". When I saw all you cute stuff I thought about ordering it, but I still held off. Ever since then it's like everywhere I turn and every blog I read is mentioning this cat. I'm not a cat person, but I give up. I ordered both books tonight and can't wait to join in the fun.

Thanks for book recommendation.

I am waiting for my box to arrive, too. In the meantime, my little one wants us to watch the video as he is perched behind me. Gotta go!

Dear friends,
As my friend Pete would say
"It's all good." I think this could be the theme for any classroom about having a positive attitude and I love the idea of dedicating a bulletin board to this. I love my new class is the most precious idea of have ever heard. Mrs. Webb is a total genius and I wish I could hug her! This is so much fun for all of us.

You made me laugh so hard when you wrote you wanted to send the book to first grade... we have that in common. I have often had that thought! it is soooo hard to let go. It just makes me cry. I look at my tiny slideshow of my kids from last year on my blog and I know it has to come down and I just can't...

My new Pete book will soon be here and join the first one and the little stuffed kitty! I have your amazing unit and can't wait for the next one. Thanks so much Fran! I love the idea of using the phrase "It's All Good!" This year! :)I think a bulletin board with Pete and work done by students with the caption "Pete The Cat says our work is all good!" could be fun! The first thing I would do would be to have the kids design their own shoes with watercolor paint or markers.
Now to get the songs downloaded to my iphone...

I just bought the first Pete the Cat last week and your packet. Now I'm going to have to buy the new one. My 11 month old niece and I rocked out to the first song. Thanks for sharing this awesome book and all your wonderful resources!

Okay, You made me get up and go look on my front porch to see if my copy is here yet! LOL It's not!:( Hopefully soon! You are so right about kids loving this book. I was discussing the book with my bff, who teaches in the same building. As I was walking back down to my classroom, I could hear my son and a friend singing the song! Love it! I also love your idea about giving the first graders a copy. My son is going into first grade. I think his teacher may get a Pete the Cat back to school gift! :) Thanks for ANOTHER great idea! I bought your Pete the Cat packet and can't wait for the new one!!!
