I Am Feeling A Bit Dotty Right Now

Warning: Dot markers will give you spots in front of your eyes if you use them as much as I do!

Here is a preview of next week's giveaways!

I have 2 weeks left and about a month's worth of paperwork and clean-up to do so I am feeling a bit crazy right now. I am trying to keep things interesting but this is becoming a challenge. I am up next and will be hosting Chapter #4. Are you ready to party with me? Okay, I sound like a DJ. This is a mat you can use at the beginning of the year with lots of different manipulatives.
1. It comes in 2 pieces so you need to glue it together
2. Can use with teddy bears, linking cubes, number cards to match the dots, etc...
3. I like the idea of use the dots as Debbie suggests so they learn the configuration quickly and will not have to count. (hummmm, some of my little ones will need to anyway !)  Click here to grab this gift! Happy Wednesday!

Tip of the Week: The Dollar Store has bingo markers for yup, one dollar.  Grab some today!

Please leave a comment about how you can use this next year.
Have a great day of teaching....  or relaxing (What is that?)

I always chuckle reading the blog title.

The dot cards do help kids visualize sets. I think the way the mats are set up are great for differentiation. Pg 1 for lower level kiddos. Pg 1 and 2 for at level or above. I love when things look the same so kids won't notice such a difference.

Love all your math mats! I'm going to make some blank sorting mats for some open-ended sorting. Thanks for sharing :)

Fran, you amaze me!! Today is my last day of kindergarten and with all of the end of the year craziness I am very behind in my chapter reading and I haven't had time to create anything from what I have learned so far in the book. You have shared so many great resources and you still have 2 weeks of school. Wow, again I am amazed. Thank you for everything!!

Thanks AGAIN for sharing your ideas and printables! I teach Pre-K, so at the beginning of the year I will have the kids do one-to-one correspondence with tiny pom poms. Later in the year they will be able to match the numbers.

You know those dot candies would be fun to give as a little treat after doing this sort! (Not that I give my kids candy or anything.)
Thanks for sharing!

Dear Laura,
Lakeshore always has them in primary and soft pastel colors but they are a bit pricey. I bought my at the Dollar Tree and you guessed it- $1. No, they cannot be refilled but someone should come up with one that does! Love that!

thanks for your reply fran...
i did some checking today...and discount school supply does offer refillable bottles and other types of dot art bottles. You can refill with colorations watercolor liquids...or even a brand of tempera paint made for the bottles. They have the bottles unfilled or filled....so someone thought it up. They do come more expensive...but less than lakeshore...i saw that they had a type of marker (not crayola brand)...but instead of a regular tip they had the foam bingo dot tip.
good to know. i am going dotty and am going to get some ....i had heard of the liquid watercolor before and that is a good product. The colors are beautiful.
thanks again,
