More or Less Taught My Way...
Many teachers have very little difficulty teaching the standard for more and less. My students have had limited experiences with numbers and need a scaffold to help them understand this concept. What do we do in our room? My teaching partner came up with the idea of having them compare their towers so they would clearly see which number was more and which was less. Let's see if this middle step helps them with this. Turkey Day is around the corner so I used DJinkers graphics that were ideal for this season! Grab it and tell me if you have a better idea for this by leaving a comment. I also have a Thanksgiving packet on Tpt right now if you need one.

I love this!! We play a similar game, but I love the Thanksgiving graphics. Is this available as a download?
This is great, my students struggle with more and less too.

I love this more or less mat! Is this part of your turkey unit on TpT?
Thank you for the great More or Less game (Freebie!) I love the Thanksgiving graphics too! I had my class do a lot of individual activities and worksheets about more and less, but no partner games. This will be fun! Thank you Fran!
Thank you so much. This is fantastic!
HI Fran, This is so perfect for many of my students. Could you make another one with pilgrim girl and native american that extend to teen numbers for those kids who need a challenge? I am always looking for a way to differentiate. Thanks
Thanks for sharing a way to get this difficult concept across to our little ones. I have six children that are almost monolingual Spanish speakers so this should help tremendously!! You are always so generous with your fabulous ideas!
I LOVE the visual!! Most of my students do just fine w/ this concept but i do struggle if they are not just getting it!! How simple -- LOVE IT!
Thanks for sharing!!

Wow! Thank you for sharing. This will be great to use with my kinders as we are doing lots of number sense work right now. I can't wait to use it.
Fran,
This was great! My K's are struggling with this. You are amazing! Thanks for all you do!

YAWHOOO - This is going to be GREAT for a couple of my lower kindees! Love the Thanksgiving theme!
THANK THANK THANK YOU!!!
Fran would you mind if I put this in SMART notebook to use as a focus lesson for my kids? I would credit you for creating it. I would just use it for my own classroom.
I too use this method with my students. I actually teach it whole group. I had each student a baggie with a designated number of blocks in each one and I ask the students to build their towers and to count how many they have. I then ask the students to turn to their partners to discuss which one has more and which one has less. Also to build oral language and higher order questions I ask the students how do they know which one is more and/or less. I love the way you have incorporated a work mat, spinner, and cute number cards to make this a center. I hope to able to use this in my classroom. Thank you for the resource.
Cute game! Thanks for sharing!!!
Thanks for sharing!
This is wonderful! I just tried it out with my kinders today and it went well. Having the blocks makes it more concrete for them-they liked comparing towers. I will be thrilled when my whole class finally understands the words more/less. Thank you!

Thank you for sharing a great game. We are really working on this skill!
I am so grateful for this! Thanks. I am starting a K/1 combo this week. And one more and one less is the first math lesson in Kinder! Thanks so much!
Thanks so much for sharing, Fran! I can't wait to try this game out this week!
I would just love to have a generic one too since we have not come to more/less in our curriculum yet. But these graphics are sooo dang cute!!! Thank you for sharing. :)
Thanks so much for this freebie! I've been having trouble finding a more/less game that used manipulatives. This is a great way to get started on the concept!
