Was I Wrong to Give Them Control!

Okay so maybe I learned a lesson when it comes to creating a graph based on the whims of 5 year olds. Who knew what symbols they would want. This might seem a bit random but my students liked doing it and I love making a graph for every theme we do during the year. It builds their independent skills. I used scrapbooking chalk to add a bit of color to the sky.
We have a lot more school so you will not see me closing shop in this classroom. We are in full swing with a lot to do before the end of the year! I am trying to control my jealousy but seriously peeps...

Seriously, Fran, I LOVE everything you do! When are you finished? My last day is June 29, and yes I am envious of all of those I read who are wrapping things up !

Janice,
I am finished on the 15th but I have to pack up the entire room for a major renovation and prepare for an I Teach K presentation in the summer. Like everyone else I have this and a billion assessments to do! Yikes!!!

The scrapbooking chalk really makes those papers "pop"! I love they way they look.

When I read the title of this post... I just said "yep" in my little brain, before I even read. Cuz that's what I say EVERY time I give my kiddos control. In this case, I think the teeny weeny bit of control you gave them was perfect. :D

Hang in there.

Your post cracks me up. Finding you on my blog roll will be just what I need after a long day at work :). All of the symbol stuff you have been doing is amazing. We do a big unit in February and you have given me tons of ideas. Thanks bunches!

I packed my entire room for cleaning last Friday...and spent five hours today UNPACKING the closets. I think I scared the janitor. On a positive note, I tossed an industrial-sized garbage can's worth of trash. Going forward, I will try not to earn a spot on Hoarders, lol!

Thursday is my last staff day, but I am the PR First Touch person for all interested kindergarten families. My number is on the principal's speed dial. We are back in the classroom on August 10. We all need to pace ourselves this summer!

So, Fran, what are you doing this summer that is just just for you, for fun?
:-) big hugs, Chrissy
