Winter Chill
So school starts back Monday for me and I have been working on a weather unit for my class. We live in the OC so not much snow is happening here. However, some of my students have been to the mountains where there is plenty of snow during the winter months. They love learning about it and it is a great opportunity for me to read wonderful literature and build their vocabulary. Are you freezing where you live? Yesterday it was about 85 degrees here! Come and warm up at the California Kindergarten Conference later this month. Sorry I had a big training and forgot the link! Woops don't slip on the ice and enjoy this download

Do you have this available anywhere? I live and teach in Iowa where there is usually snow but we are having a strange winter so far. It was 60 degrees yesterday and 50 today! My students would love this graphing activity.
Thanks.
Sheryl
I second that. This looks great! How do you get the download? I know that is a stupid question...

We're in the land of chill in East Central, Iowa, but we've been anything but January-like. 59 yesterday and no snow on the horizon. Not normal!! Even here it's a bit tough to talk snow and snowmen when we're feeling spring. The Kinders and I decided to make predictions of when we would get a sustainable (break out the sleds) snow. Here's hoping it happens before the late February predicted by several kids! Ha!!
Thanks for sharing! My kids will love this!
No snow in Texas either! :)
Thank you for sharing! Have a wonderful weekend! :)

Thank you Fran! My students and I really love these graph activities! I hope your big training went really well today. I am sure the teachers are still thinking about your ideas and buzzing about your enthusiasm!
Here are my favs if I was at your workshop:
Movie: Sooo many! I am a movie fanatic, although I often forget the ending so I can enjoy them over and over. My current holiday fav is Last Holiday with Queen Latifah. Can't wait to see her newest movie Joyful Noise!
Food: Again sooo many! All of them a bit unhealthy! I love a good burger and I have to have something chocolatey everyday or I am just no fun! (ask my hubby!)
Children's book: Hmmm I have a theme of soooo many going on! I love Robert Munsch books because they are fun to read outloud and kids love them. This year I am loving Pete The Cat because he is adorable and positive and new for me and my students. An upcoming favorite is The Giant Hug (great for Valentine's and mail units)
Teacher supply:
Thin sharpies in pretty colors, magnet men clips, dry erase crayons and paper clips in fun shapes!
Grade: KINDERGARTEN!!!! I have taught First Grade for 3 years, ut Kindergarten is my passion and favorite!
Techie tool: Just got an iPad2 so I want to learn more about using it in the classroom. I am glad that I have an iphone doc/clock radio this year. Very helpful!
Thanks for the free download of your M&M candy activity Fran! I hope to use it someday...
Sorry I posted about the candy ice breaker on this blog post!
I've been away from blogging for a few days and I have lost it!
Oh I so miss California... I miss that our winters were so warm and lovely. At the beginning of the week in Virginia the temperature was in the low 30s. But Saturday it should be almost 70.
Thanks for the winter graph. I love all that you share with us.
