Pete the Cat Came Back


I just finished a little reader for the new Pete the Cat packet and I will be adding on other activities as soon as my friend Makda finishes the graphics. I cannot wait to see what she comes up with. The language in this book is too difficult at the beginning of the year (unless you have first graders) so it will be a "shared reader" to help the children to be successful. If I made this into a Big Book I would take photographs of places at my school so the children would recognize them. That would be so much fun for them. The pointer is just a special extra and their name could go right on the stick with a label. It won't be long before I am rocking in my school shoes!

    Fran, I love it! I can hardly wait to see your finished creation! I think I will use your idea and photograph Pete in different places thoughout the school. Hmmm ... he could be standing next to people I want the kiddos to get to know. Pete with the principal, etc. Love it!

    So do you think we could just do activities based on Pete all year? Do you think it is normal to be so in love with a character from a book? Of course, this isn't just any character - this is Pete the Cat!

    I love all of your creations. i create similar folders for my students, and I find they are very easy to manage.

    I read Pete The Cat today and the kids loved it! I was amazed at how they responded to the book and thier little bodies were just moving and grooving with Pete! Next week we are doing many of the books you gave us and making a Pete The Cat art project. So glad I bought your packet!
